Resy Credits

Resy credits come from holding certain credit cards, and the credits can be used at any restaurant listed on Resy.com. You don’t have to make a reservation on Resy- the restaurant just has to be listed there (see Breaking News at the bottom).

Personally, I get three $100 quarterly credits from holding three American Express Personal Platinum cards. We also have an Amex Gold card, which provides a semi-annual $50 credit.

We live in Silicon Valley, and there are very few Resy restaurants nearby- surprisingly.

But when I was recently in New York City, it seemed that about half of the restaurants were on Resy. I had no trouble using my credits when I was there. I ate at a variety of restaurants- some fancy and some simple, ethnic restaurants and was surprised how many were on Resy.

If I lived in NYC, I’d say the Resy credits were worth full value because they are so easy to use- just go eat out!

But in Silicon Valley, it takes more effort, so I only value the $400 annual credits on my Personal Platinums at $250.

And the credits don’t always post automatically. When I’ve called Amex, I’ve been told to wait 14 days and then call back to have them manually apply the credit. That’s annoying, but it works.

Amex bought Tock, another reservation system primarily used for wineries and some restaurants. Those restaurants and wineries will appear on Resy in mid-September. Very curious to see if the wineries we visit will be on there AND eligible for the Resy credit. That will certainly make the credit a LOT easier to use.
